Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa boldly declared on Tuesday that there is a “true probability” that it can be the next head of New York City, the independent streak of the head of Eric Adams and the anger over low heat in the external environment.
The founder of The Guardian Angels is betting on a fragmented general election, which could present up to four viable candidates, and the frustration of voters on migrant shelters, inhalation, crime and housing bells that change the radicals in the houses.
“I know that the Republicans will support me so that it can be next May in New York City,” said Sliwa, 71, to The Post Dooring a meeting of the editorial board.
“Eric Adams going to the independent route has made a real probability and we are working hard.”
Adams announced last week that he was surpassing the Democratic primaries at the end of June and, on the other hand, was running for re -election through an independent offer of long shot after his criminal case was completely dismissed.
Sliwa, who used his characteristic red beret together with a pressed demand with the position, said that the development could lead at least four candidates who compete in the general elections: himself, the winner of the democratic, a family that works.
Former governor Andrew Cuomo has a clear advantage in the surveys ahead of the primaries, while the left -hander of Queens Zohran Mamdani has been in second place, but he could hook the line of the PMA if the loss in June.
Sliwa, the lover of staunch cats that was not successful for the mayor in 2021, believes he has the opportunity to collect moderate democrats and independent voters, along with a base of the Republican Party, outside or Manhattan.

Sliwa said he has spoken with many fed up people who are ready to leave the city in part due to the dazzling project of the city of Adams, which would review the zoning regulations to create tens of thousands of new houses.
“I know I talked to these groups every day … They come out at one foot for the door,” he said.
SLIWA is the recognizable face of the Crime Prevention Clan of the Guardian Angels that is often seen patrolling.
Despite the optimism of the community activist for a long time, the candidate has an anemic numbers for fundraising and the race is in a city where the Democrats greatly exceed Republicans.
The director of the Marist University Institute for public opinion, Lee Miringoff offered a verification of reality to Sliwa, is even a multiple race.
“It’s plausible, but many things would have to break,” Miringoff told The Post. “There is a stage but it is a remote possibility.”
