The United States Department of the Treasury announced the orientation of a poster head behind one of the largest fentanyl convulsions in the history of Mexico.

On Wednesday morning, the United States Treasury Department announced the orientation of Jesús Alfredo “El Mochomito” Beltran Guzmán, the current leader of the Beltrán Leyva poster. The criminal organization is linked to large -scale cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and fentanyl traffic, as well as numerous violent crimes, including murders, kidnappings, torture and participation in large -scale shootings.

This organization is linked to two raids in December 2024 in Sinaloa, where Mexican authorities confiscated more than 2,000 pounds of fentanyl in the cities of Ahome and Guazave. It is believed that seizure is the equivalent or 20 million doses of fentanyl.

“Beltrán Guzmán and the BL have continued to operate with violent impunity, mortal drug trafficking, threatening communities and attacking key officials, all while benefiting from their criminal schemes,” said Treason’s secretary. “The treasure, in close association with our law colleagues, will continue to interrupt the operations of the posters and their affiliates that allow the traffic of mortal drugs such as fentanyl through our border and our communities.”

Beltran Guzman is Alfredo’s son “El Mochomo” Beltrán Leyva, a former leader of the poster who is serving life imprisonment in an American prison. The Mochomito is also Joaquín’s nephew “El Chapo” Guzmán, one of the supreme leaders of the Sinaloa Cartel, which currently meets a life in an American prison.

In 2016, the Mexican authorities had arrested El Mochomito for arms charges, but was released in 2021. Duration in their time in prison, supposedly tortured and extorted prisoners while continued their drug trafficking business.

The designation of the treasure blocks all assets and accounts linked to Beltran Guzmán and prohibits any American citizen from doing business with him at the risk of facing similar sanctions.
