A 16 -year -old Tunisian boy fell to his death while trying to raise a Palestinian flag, according to regional sources, and since then has been praised as a “martyr” by the Palestinian factions and the Arab Acticalis.

The incident took place on Tuesday in the province of Manouba in Tunisia, where Khaled adolescent rates rose to a school building and lost their balance, falling on six floors.

The Ministry of Higher Education of Tunisia confirmed his death, describing it as “tragic accident” and suspended classes for two days.

What followed, however, was a wave of glorification.

The president of the Palestinian authority, Mahmoud Abbas, posted the adolescent posthumously, giving him a medal “in recognition of his great sacrifice and his commitment to solidarity with the Palestinian people and their rights.”

Meanwhile, the Hamas youth wing described its actions as “heroic”, while the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestinian and Palestinian Islamic Jihad issued statements of condolence.

The teenager, whose funeral presented a Palestinian flag covered with his body, was known for publishing content related to Gaza on social networks and recently informed a palestinian injured in a theatrical performance about the conflict. A local mosque described the political committed child as a devout and disciplined.

Khaled’s father launched a handwritten note that declared the pride of his son’s “martyrdom”, saying that he had “sent his brother to Gaza.”

The glorification of martyrdom among young people has long taken concerns about radicalization and long -term instability in the region.
