Republicans are firmly removating behind President Trump, just like most Americans are beginning to blame him for the economic struggle that the duration has bubbled, he found a new survey.

An amazing 91% of Republicans believe that Trump has a plan amid their tariff tariff, while 84% of Democrats and 57% of independents say they can’t do not do not.

Following the Trump rates scheme, which led to a sale of shares that has since decreased a bit and fear in the bond market, many Americans are nervous about the state of the economy and fear that protectionist policies can have a price of domesticia.

Althegh, 54% of Americans in general say that Trump’s policies are the response for the state of the economy after only 84 days in office, only 35% of respondents believe that the economy is doing enough or very good.

That is a marked investment of Trump’s first mandate and the 2024 campaign cycle, when he regularly obtained high grades in the economy. Now it is only measuring a 44% approach to the 56% disapproval rating.

The survey could be an early warning over the winds against Trump and Republicans could face their tariff policies cause more economic tumults.

Until now, as Republican voters, Republicans in Congress are inclined to give Trump a lot of space to breathe to negotiate new commercial agreements with foreign countries.

However, that could change over time if the mood among voters changes. Already, some Republicans, among them, Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IIWA), have supported measures to control their tariff authority. The measures lack support to cancel a presidential veto, at least for now.

Trump has announced his tariff plan as short -term pain to obtain long -term profits. Many Americans indicate that they are beginning to feel something of that pain.

A company of 49% believes that Trump’s policies are worsening, marking a 42% Upick in March.

But they seem divided into the last reward of the rates.

In the short term, three quarters of Americans expect these rates to increase the prices of everyday goods and services, but remain torn by their long -term impact.

In the long term, only 42% expect tariffs to get worse, while 23% do not expect a significant impact and 34% believe it will improve the economy, according to the survey.

In the midst of all these concerns, only 37% approve or their approach, while 51% favors their general objective of bringing jobs to the United States from abroad and obtaining fairer trade agreements with foreign countries.

A huge 85% of Republicans believe that tariffs will add more jobs to the US economy, compared to 43% of independents and 20% of Democrats.

This month, the president launched a large number of tariffs against all countries, a measure that led to a dramatic market sale and caused fears that the country was heading towards the recession.

Since then, the markets have begun to recover after President Trump announced his pause on tariffs. Reuters

Last Wednesday, he imposed a 90 -day break in most of those rates while leaving a 10% baseline rate of 10% against each country and a total 145% rate against China.

On Friday, the Trump administration announced an electronic exemption for imports from China, but on Sunday, the Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick said the exemption would be temporary and that the president is considering plans for more permanent tasks in those products.

Most also believe that Trump intends to impose long -term tariffs, with 59% suspected that the president will eliminate them at some point, according to the survey.

This CBS News/Yougov survey showed 2,410 adults between April 8 and 11 with a margin of error or more or less 2.4 points.
