Santa Clara – Elic Ayomanor put on a 49ers t -shirt on Wednesday as another 48 NFL draft candidates on the local professional day of the team, then spoke aloud what others surely thought.
“I think it would fit well here,” said Ayomanor, the former open receiver from Stanford.
He had valid reasons for those who worked in the 45-minute session in the 49ers practice fields, an audition that included Nick Nash, the American-American All-American American.
Ayomanor had just returned to the Bay area when taking a previous visit to the Draft to the Buccaneers of Tampa Bay. He had one before with the Houston Texans, and more are on the agenda before the draft from April 24 to 26.
He is not alien to the brass of the 49ers, and not only because he is the boy next door. “I think they are all they needed to see,” said Ayomanor in a non -abrupt way.
In fact, General Manager John Lynch and the coach of open receptors, Leonard Hankerson, attended Stanford’s professional day and that Ayomanor was out of the specialized routes.
Evaluations of drafts are much deeper than, and far beyond the combination of NFL exploration, where Ayomanor ran the 40 -yard race in 4.44 seconds, 19 ° better among 39 wide receptors; It was among the 10 best in vertical and wide jumps.
On Wednesday he offered Ayomanor the opportunity to visit the facilities of the 49ers and meet on the sidelines with Lynch, a Stanford partner who was an honorary captain of an honorary game game when Ayomanor appeared for the first time.
“My personality is a really strong suit for me, so the more I can be in this type, the GMS, the coaches, the better it is for me,” said Ayomanor.
Ayomanor only played two seasons in Stanford, and although the cardinal had a bit 3-9 each year, he showed how productive it can be. That goes beyond the totals of his season for trapped (62 in 2023, 63 in 2024), Yardas (1.013; 831) and TouchDowns (six each season).
Ayomanor, originally from Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, surely got into the radar of everyone on October 13, 2023 in Colorado, against the buffalo trained by Deion Sanders and the 1225 travis hunter prospect partner.
Ayomanor established a Stanford record with 294 reception yards, and scored TouchDowns in three of its 13 trapped in an extra double time victory.
“I don’t know if things really changed for me,” said Ayomanor about that rupture game. “I think the perception of who was as a player changed a lot. But I approach everything in the same way that I always have from the beginning.”
Some disabled drafts in the Ayomanor media project as a selection of day 2. Dane Brugler of The Athletic gave the third round of 6 feet 2 and 206 pounds as its 11th best open receiver. Mel Kiper Jr. De ESPN does not include Ayomanor among its 10 classified wide receptors.
“There was a lot of improvement and growth that I had to do about my career, and that will be the case in the future,” said Ayomanor, 21. “I wanted to show (teams) that I had the ability to learn and grow.”
Nash training
It is not often, if always, an open All-American receiver participates in a local professional day, but Nash of San José State felt forced to do so. “Any opportunity to go out and play ball, I love sport, so why not?” Nash said. “Simply run routes and show what I can do. It’s my favorite thing.”
Nash, in his third year since he became the field marshal, led the nation last season with 104 caught, 1,382 yards and 16 touchdowns. He played 25 games as a field marshal for Spartans of 2019-21 (1,317 air yards, 844 yards per land).
“I am in the bay during the last six years. I have done this home, so it was incredible when I received the invitation (49ers),” said Nash. “I hope I have shown you that I belong to this level of competition, that I can do this, and I hope it is a guy who consults when the draft arrives.”
Buchanan meets Willis
Cal, Teddye Buchanan, as expected, did not work, but spent time speaking not only the coach of the supporter Johnny Holland, but also the member of the Patrick Willis football hall.
“I had a great talk with him, just trying to choose his brain and talk about what made it great. I had a simple advice: bring it every day, wake up ready to attack the day,” Buchanan said. “It was really great to talk to him. He was a player who grew up looking, so a super great moment for me.”
Buchanan, projected by Brugler as a Quinta Ronda selection, is a native of Palo Alto and St. Ignatiat College Prep who played three years at UC Davis before becoming the lime Tackleler last season.
“I feel that a successful process (prior to the draft) is a bone so far,” said Buchanan. “I have to go to the sanctuary game and the combination, which are things that I have seen since I was a small child. Talking to the NFL teams has a really great process and I am trying to accept it.”
Coaching meeting
Robert Saleh, four years after leaving as a defensive coordinator to train the New York jets, returned to the 49ers practice field and saw the professional day, at a point with Lynch and coach Kyle Shanahan. Also in the field were the other new coordinators of Shanahan: Klay Kubiak (offensive) and Brant Boyer (special equipment).
Second year spies
The Dominick Puni Guard, the Malik Mustapha security, the Defensive Tackle Evan Anderson and the defensive wing Sam Okuayinonu emerged from the weight room of the 49ers to see the professional day. Everyone is entering their second season with the team.
Field marshal harvest
They auditioned three quarterbacks: Spencer Petras (Iowa/Utah State; Marin Catholic High), Chandler Rogers (Cal) and Benjamin Wooldridge, who played in Fothill High-Pleasanton before moving on to the state of Fresno and Louisiana. Another former field marshal raised in pleasanton, Dominick Mazotti or Amador Valley High, turned to the wing closed in the state of San José and played last season in Massachusetts.
Construction zone
Both the Levi stadium and the 49Ers neighbors of the 49ers are experiencing changes. While the stadium updates its video and suites, the field is also being renewed.
There is a more surprising change in training fields. The 49ers have eliminated the artificial peat field that was mainly used for the conditioning of players and the practice of kickers. That is creating space for two 100 -yard fields that extend to the east/west, while allowing the 49ers to change to their old fields of 80 yards that run to the north/south.
