SAN JOSE – A man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly dismissed AA Firase Surtmmo to a shared travel vehicle on the eve of the New Year, which hit one of the three women who were passengers in the car, according to the San José Police Department.
Erik Enriquez, a 19 -year -old resident or San José, was arrested under suspicion or attempted murder, saying a firearm in a busy vehicle, vandalism and having an assault rifle, the authors said in a press release.
Around 11:14 pm on December 31, the officers responded to a report that Enriquez approached a shared travel vehicle in which three victims had entered, authorities said. Enriquez took out a firearm, which shot the vehicle while moving away.
A bullet hit one of the passengers, causing non -threatening injuries, the police added. She was transported to a local hospital by the shared travel driver.
Enriquez fled the scene before the police arrived. The incident occurred near Don Alfonso Way and Cedros entrance.
The detectives of the SJPD assault unit identified Enriquez as suspect, authorities said. He had arrested “shortly after the shooting” for a separate crime in San José, and had a firearm in his possession at the time of his trial that the police believe that it was used in the New Year incident.
Then, the officers obtained an order of trial for Enriquez and a search warrant for their residence, which when it was executed on Tuesday in conjunction with the SJPD Covert response unit in which the officers who found an assault and serialized rifle found. Enriquez was arrested in San José and hired in the main prison of Santa Clara County, authorities said.
