A new nuclear weapon of the USA 24 times more powerful than that used in Hiroshima is being produced by land because or an “urgent” and “critical” threat by increasing global tensions, the agreement to the scientists who achieve it.
The B61-13 variable gravity pump is being produced in full production seven months earlier than expected, according to a statement from the National Sandia Laboratories (SNL) in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The new and powerful weapon, originally predicted to enter production next year, is ready to play a key role in the United States efforts to modernize its nuclear dierce in the midst of growing global tensions.
“Responding to a critical challenge and an urgent need, the B61-13 program used an innovative planning of the program that resulted in the projected delivery seven months earlier than expected, a decrease of more than 25% in the general time production unit”, the Rad statement.
A gravity pump, also known as a Uguilden pump, does not have an orientation system and simply falls from an airplane, depending on gravity only to achieve its goal.
The B61-13 is designed to have a 360 kilotons payload equivalent to 361,000 tons of acceptance of TNT to interesting engineering.
In contrast, “Little Boy”, the atomic bomb fell on Hiroshima, Japan, in 1945, had a yield of 15 kilotons, equivalent to 15,000 tons of TNT.
Its payload can also vary and program for a yield of between 10 and 36 kilotons, with the idea of bees can be used in different objectives while the prevention of collateral damage.
The weapon is designed to become full -time replacement for the oldest nuclear weapons in the United States with new stealthy bombers of the USA.
The original B61 gravity bomb was created in 1968, which makes it the oldest nuclear weapon in the United States Arsenal.
“The B61-13 will provide the President with additional options against certain tougher and more large military objectives,” said the United States Department of Energy in September.
The plans for the bomb were launched in 2023, after fears of the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, could trigger a conflict throughout Europe.
