A 16 -year -old Missouri firefighter is being crying for his community after dying while trying to rescue broad floods at the end of last week, authorities said.
Chevy Gall, a student of Union High School in Franklin County, was responding to a water rescue reported in his personal vehicle when he was seriously injured in an accident with another car, the authorities of the state patrol of Missouri said First alert 4.
The adolescent, voluntary of the Beaufort-Leslie fire protection district, was transported to the Mercy Washington hospital, where he was declared dead.
When calling the incident “the worst nightmare of a fire chief”, Chief Terry Feth said that the district is “disconsolate by the loss of its own” on a Facebook post on Friday night.
“Chevy died while answering the call to help others. Our entire department is afflicted, since we cry with Chevy’s family, friends and our door to respond, an incredible difficult moment,” Feth added.
Several other local fire departments and lifeguards, including the New Haven ambulance district, the Valley Park Fire Protection District, the Eureka Fire Protection District and the Pattonville Fire Protection District joined Ball to give Ball a dignified transfer:
Today, its paramedic/#Pattonville firefighters participated in a decent transfer greeting for the Firefighter Chevy Gall. The voluntary firefighter Gall headed to a water rescue call in Franklin’s county when he was involved in a vehicle accident and was killed. Multiple agencies aligned the high step 270 with an increase in the flag, while the Firefighter Gall was transferred to Washington, Missouri. Rest in peace, volunteer gall. #Ackery of cars
