Pope Francis with letters at his hotel on Sunday with the American vice president JD Vance, who is spending Easter in Rome with his family.
AP reports that Vance Motorcade entered the city of the Vatican through a side door and parked near the residence of the Francis hotel, while the Easter Mass was held near the Plaza de San Pedro.
Francis, who has greatly reduced his workload to recover from a disease, delegated the celebration of the Mass to another cardinal.
“Pope Francis had a private meeting letter … which lasted a few minutes to exchange good wishes on Easter Day,” said a Vatican statement as a confirmation.
No more details about the meeting were published.
Vance and the Pope have been abruptly tangled up on Trump’s migration and administrations, successful efforts to deport illegal migrants and mass.
The vice president, who became Catholicism in 2019, with the Secretary of State and Vatican Foreign Minister on Saturday.
Before Trump’s inauguration, Pope Francis called his plan to deport the illegal a “misfortune”, and also said that “it was not the way to solve things.”
As Breitbart News reported, Francis later made a surprise appearance for the blessings of Easter Sunday in the Plaza de San Pedro del Vaticano.
He had been unknown if the 88 -year -old pontiff would join the Holy Week meeting after his recent hospital high after five weeks of treatment for an infection that led to double pneumonia.
