Instant ‘facelift’ using common office supply is the latest bizarre DIY budget beauty hack — but experts say it’s dangerous

Heard today, did he leave tomorrow?

Tiktok’s last crazy beauty has users to wrap rubber rubber around their ears for “facial stretch” instantaneous, but experts warn that this viral trick is false and dangerous.

The strange trend, which, as reported, originated in South Korea, implies the rubber loop in loop around each ear for 10 to 30 minutes.

The devotees claim that the trick drains the facial swelling, lifts the cheekbones and scatts shirts, all without needles, knives or filters.

The method won a great traction after the dermatologist based in New York City, Dr. David Kim, published a video of Tiktok calling him the “greatest beauty hack in Korea at this time.”

His video accumulated around 6.2 million visits, throwing a wave of imitation clips in recent weeks with beauty with rubber bands that allegedly boast strict and more contoured faces.

But medical professionals say that everything is a total section.

“There is absolutely no basic for this,” the Arizona dermatologist, a dermatologist based in Arizona, to Popsugar, hitting the technique as an ineffective and insecure, told the headquarters.

“Wrapping rubber bands or hair ties around the ears is not an effective or safe method to discourage your face,” Khayutin’s echo, a aestheticist teacher and owner of Belver Studio in the same article.

While real lymphatic drainage massages can reduce swelling, Khayutin reported to the output that these results come from trained and deliberate techniques, not improvised ear turniquetes.

Khayutin acknowledged that “the manipulations around the ears are in fact a part of the lymphatic drainage massage,” but explained that simply wrapping rubber bands or hair ties around the ears won the desired effect.

Experts explained that, although some users may notice the results of the letters, the physical tension of the skin is probably due to the real drainage of the fluids.

The rubber bands can be removing the skin to create a short -term lifting effect, Khayutin stressed, but once they retired, the face usually returns to their original appearance.

And this beauty “hack” is not only useless, it can do real harm.

“[It] It could restrict blood flow, cause problems and potentially lead to skin irritation or damage, partly to delicate skin around the ears, “Khayutin warned.

Instead of torturing their lobes of the lobes in the name of a more sculpted face, Jeffy and Khayutin adhere to the methods proven to fight facial swelling.

These include staying hydrated, getting enough closed eye and reducing salt and alcohol.

Sleeping with a slightly high head can also help, Jeffy suggested, since this can “prevent the liquid from accumulating in the face during the night.”

Khayutin also advised to apply cold compresses or cold -faced rollers with upward strokes, swearing by the power of manual lymphatic massage.

“The best method is lymphatic drainage massage,” Khayutin said, encouraging soft and sudden blows along the jaw line, cheeks and under the eyes using light and facial oil pressure.

And before trying any viral trend, professionals agree on an end point: consult a true expert before turning their ears into office supply experiments.
