In the transmission of Monday or “The Arena” of CNN, Senator John Kennedy (R-La) said that he would consider that Congress return the president’s rates authority “if he finally concluded that what the president proposes that he is not going to work or if the treatment is worse than the disease” and that he will return the Chuck Grassley Senator (R-II) in the bill of the Congress of the Congress, but I am not There, but I’m not there.
Host Kasie Hunt asked: “Is there any point where you would say that the tariff authority supports in the hands of Congress? There are bones some efforts in the Senate to do that.”
Kennedy replied: “Well, if finally concluded that what the president proposes will not work or if the treatment is worse than the disease, of course. And I will see the draft of the Grassley senator very closely, but I am not yet there. I simply do not know. I am not trying to pretend that I am not going to bubbles.
Kennedy added that if Trump’s tariff plan doesn’t work, “I think he will be willing to recalibrate.” But it would begin by establishing zero tariffs if other countries do.
