On Tuesday, the governor of Michigan, Gretchen Whitmer (D), pressed to obtain more weapons control in his state, claiming: “Weapons are the number one murderer of young people in the United States.”
Whitmer made the comments at Lansing, with members of the weapons control lobby gathered behind her for the annual defense day.
For years, it was called to the left for claiming that weapons were the number one cause of death for children in the United States. Breitbart News showed that this statement was false when President Joe Biden arrived for the first time on June 2, 2022.
