On Tuesday, the governor of Michigan, Gretchen Whitmer (D), pressed to obtain more weapons control in his state, claiming: “Weapons are the number one murderer of young people in the United States.”
Whitmer made the comments at Lansing, with members of the weapons control lobby gathered behind her for the annual defense day.
For years, it was called to the left for claiming that weapons were the number one cause of death for children in the United States. Breitbart News showed that this statement was false when President Joe Biden arrived for the first time on June 2, 2022. We noticed that the claim was based on the data of 2020 CDC, then fell into the data to find that the 18 -year -old (that is, people or people of it. They claim to be precise.
But young people of 18 and 19 are not children and, therefore, Biden’s statement was false.
Just although the claim was demonstrated false, was repeated by Kamala Harris and the leader of the representatives’s minority, Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), and by the actresses Allysa Milano and Jennifer Lawrence.
When Whitmer addressed the theme on Tuesday, the focus on “young people” changed instead of children. She did not mention how many of the “young people” in question were members of gangs or street criminals.
