How does smartbrush work? How Pheno stands outWhat are the inconveniences? What follows?

To say teeth, most people do not brush their teeth well.

There are many ways to ruin such a simple act: you don’t hit all points, you don’t do it enough time and you don’t do it enough.

An electric toothbrush of $ 299 of full mouth can be just what the dentist ordered. The Smartbrush pheno brushes your teeth for you and the technology that accompanies your mouth in search of signs of problems.

“The mouth is the entrance to the rest of the body, and if we take care of it, we will reward us our general systemic health. It is not just white, straight teeth, it is the general health,” Dr. Kenny Brown, CEO and Feno co -founder told The Post.

Brown, an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, launched the smartbrush last summer. It comes in three parts, a U -shaped nozzle that has about 18,000 Nylon bristles, a handle that keeps the brush in place and a charger that binds to the handle.

Now, he looks a bit strange. The brush seems that your chompers are larger than life, to the Jim Carrey in “The Mask”.

But it seems to be resonating with the male tekkies who enjoy convenience. I thought I wouldn’t share the customer number, Brown said the novel Gadget is also gaining ground with women.

“Be honest with yourself,” Brown encouraged potential buyers. “Do you really feel that you are brushing the clean technique when they consult the time, the pressure, the movement, to be able to do it in a consistent way and again and again? That is where Pheno enters.”

How does smartbrush work?

To start, you take very glamorous photos of your mouth so that pheno can send the appropriate size brush.

The company, based in Culver City, California, used data of more than 20,000 mouths to design the nozzle to ensure that the bristles reach all the right places.

The $ 299 package comes with the nozzle, the mango, the charger, three paste tubes of sparkling tooth, a tongue scraper and a month free of membership pheno plus.

After watching a two -minute video and loading the device, it is ready for motor.

The process is a quite easy mint foam between the bristles, press the start button and move the device in a circular movement. The vibrations stop after 20 seconds, noting that their mouth has been thoroughly cleaned.

The speed is adjustable: it works up to 250 blows per cycle of 20 seconds, and Brown said that some patients choose to make 20 seconds each at the top and lower part of the mouth.

Users can track their oral health with Plus Membership, $ 9.95 additional for months. An integrated scanner takes detailed images of the mouth, which are analyzed to provide personalized information and health training.

Brown said the personalized report can identify problematic areas, such as the recession of the gum line, a soft tissue injury and yellowish teeth, but does not replace a trip to the dentist.

How Pheno stands out

Brown said that the pheno is more effective than other complete coverage tooth tooth brushes because the mouthpiece has the proper size of the mouth, the nylon is stronger than traditional silicone bristles and the engine on the device “offers a scan movement movement.” Courtesy of pheno

Electric toothbrushes are generally considered more effective than manual toothbrushes, but Conerns have been raised on the value of A U -shaped automatic brushes.

An Italian study of 2020, launched years before the pheno brush reaches the market, the specific thesis brushes do not effectively eliminate the dental plate.

“Brushing with a U – -shaped electric toothbrush may not be as good as a traditional toothbrush,” Dr. Ir. Joseph Brofsky, head of Pediatric Dentistry of Northwell Health, said The Post.

“The idea makes sense because all the teeth are being brushed at the same time, but the result may not really work,” Bofsky added, who did not participate in the 2020 study.

Brown said the pheno is more effective than other complete coverage tooth tooth brushes because the nozzle is the proper size of the mouth, the nylon is stronger than traditional silicone bristles and the engine on the device “offers a scan movement movement.”

What are the inconveniences?

Pheno is not for everyone. People with orthopedic devices or a temporary crown should not try, Brown said, as well as children under 15 because Dang does not have a dental arc for adults.

Those who take lunch may experience bleeding for three or five days after making the change.

“What is normally happening there is that they are the brushing areas of your gum that may not have touched your leg that way,” Brown explained.

Users also need a smartphone with at least iOS 11.0 or Android 5.0, otherwise, they will have problems adjusting problems for the adjustment, downloading the application and recurring recommendations made to measure.

The brush works independently of technology, with Brown pointing out that efficient cleaning is the central objective followed by access and consciousness that offers the bells and whistles of AI.

Another possible scam is the cost. Feno advises to obtain a new brush every three months for the bacterial accumulation of prevention.

“What we are seeing is that people are using it much longer,” Brown said. “It will not separate from you and disintegrate, but we have the three months ascending.”

What follows?

The new versions of the device will have a longer battery life and will be easier to pack in a suitcase, Brown said. Courtesy of pheno

Brown expects the product to evolve in several ways.

Adding more sizes is a priority, like accommodation children, people with missing teeth and those with orthopedic devices.

Additional foam flavors are also barrel. The only offer at this time is the mint, which touches the medicinal and can turn off the brusters that prefer Fro’s flavors.

The new versions of the device will have a longer battery life, said Brown, and will be easier to pack in a suitcase.

He is also looking to convert Pheno into dental stores and offices.

Beyond the brush, Brown is considering launching other products. Imagine a prayer or a mint that can refresh your breathing, and be good for your oral health.

“That is something we are playing with,” he said.
