A former soccer player from New Mexico could be life imprisonment after being sentenced by federal drug conspiracy and trafficking positions.

Rayshawn Boyce, 29, was sentenced last year for stealing a porter at a gunpoint in 2022, as well as stealing postal properties. He was also convicted of possession of a firearm, according to Fox News.

But federal prosecutors say that Boyce was executing a methamphetamine distribution operation from inside a New Mexico prison to which he was sent after that conviction.

“The review of the surveillance images revealed that in the case of May 16, 2022, the correctional officer Gabriella Torres introduced a methamphetamine package in the installation under his hood sweatshirt and dropped it into it [a] Cell in an area that was not covered by a camera for Boyce to recover, “said the Department of Justice in a statement.” A short time later, Boyce recovered the package, hid it in a target and returned to his cell. “

The prison officials found their stash when he tried to hide it in the installation shower area.

The authorities also say that Boyce had the help of the correctional officer Gabriella Torres, to whom they pay the convict through an cash application.

The guard later declared himself guilty of a conspiracy charge and is currently in jail pending sentence.

According to reports, Boyce faces up to ten years in prison in the case of drug theft, but ten to life in the case of traffic.
