Disgraced New Mexico Judge, Wife Arrested After Allegedly Harboring Tren de Aragua Gang Members

A magistrate judge from New Mexico and his wife are under trial after they allegedly housed the members of the Aragua gang. The judge resigned from his post last week after the Immigration and Customs Compliance officials arrested a Venezuelan man who says he lived in his property.

The officials in charge of enforcing ICE’s law arrested Judge Judge recently resigned from Joel Cano and his wife, Nancy, at home at Las Cruces, New Mexico, Thursday. ICE officials executed a search warrant and a probable cause order and qualified them, Fox 14 reported. Joel Cano is currently responsible for manipulating evidence and his wife is accused of conspiracy to manipulate, according to the report.

Cano’s couple was hired at the Dona Ana County Detention Center between 6:30 and 7 p..M. Thursday, the Albuquerque diary Reported. They are currently being heroes without bond. Federal prosecutors in the New Mexico district claim that Ortega-López was illegally in possession of a firearm and has links with the Hyperviolent Venezuelan gang, Tren El Aragua. The photos and videos showed Ortega-Lopez showing tattoos of train gangs of Aragua. The United States government recently declared that this violent gang was a transnational criminal organization.

The researchers found additional firearms in a neighboring house owned by Nancy Cano’s daughter. Ortega-Lopez was seen in possession of several of these firearms.

On Tuesday, the New Mexico Supreme Court ruled that Cano could never have a judicial office in New Mexico, Fox 14 revealed. Fox News/CBS affiliate was on the scene when the couple was arrested and placed handcuffed.

Ortega-López remains in custody in jail before a detention hearing. It is scheduled to appear in the New Mexico District Court on April 30.

It is not clear if Judge Cano or his wife, Nancy, will be accused of housing an illegal foreigner or providing material support to a foreign terrorist organization.
