Karl: Did the vice president come out of the message there? I mean, he is calling Chinese peasants. This is something we listen to, which the Chinese say was ignorant and disrespectful.
I mean, I have not heard Donald Trump talk about that way about the Chinese.
Lutnick: No, I’m just going to step and I will really leave the vice president to defend himself. He knows what he and we all know what he means, which, you know, the Chinese have basically attacked the United States and cheated us undermining our businesses by the Chinese government, helps their businesses to undermine Ouruf China. It has happened in pharmaceutical products. It has happened in so many industries that we feel, steel and aluminum, so many. So, the idea is that if the Government of China is behind its businesses, imagine that if the Government of America, the United States of America were supporting their business, I mean, it would be a murderer in the world.
So that’s what the Chinese have their legs. And finally, Donald Trump is defending, look, look, to be just for US companies, we have to make a tariff to China to level the playing field, to eliminate his government from being a competitor. We need to have medications in the United States. We need to have those products here in the United States because we need them.
We can have a war and aspire to China to send on penicillin. It is simply not reasonable. We can trust another country for semiconductors. We can trust another country for steel and aluminum.
These are national security problems, and Donald Trump will ensure that they are reformulated, we have the ability to do so.
If you have seen, you know, an automotive plant these days, these are beautiful plants. You know, these new modern plants are incredible and the work they create for our American workers are incredible jobs.
