The Catholic Church of the United States is closing two of its migration programs amid the pressure of common Catholics and the United States government.
“A very sad day has been threatened,” Archbishop Timothy P. Broglio, president of the US Catholic Bishops wrote. UU., On April 8, OP-ED for the Washington Post. He continued:
The United States Catholic Bishop Conference (USCCB) had to make the heartbreaking decision this week to put an end to our work with the federal government to reassure refugees and coordinate support services in the Government’s Walf states. Our programs, from the resettlement efforts of larger and older refugees in the nation, will close at the end of the fiscal year.
…
This is a painful end for an association that sustains the life that the Catholic Church in the United States has with our government and that has covered decades among the administrations of both political parties.
The withdrawal occurs after the voters, including many Catholics, elected President Donald Trump to end the very unpopular policy of the federal government of importers of workers, rolas and consumers in the communities of the nation.
That ruthless economic policy had imposed poverty, lower wages, higher rentals and chaotic diversity in many American communities that already suffered the loss of jobs and investment. The policy backed by the Church also led to the death of thousands of migrants.
Forty -three percent of the 1,342 Catholics of Autovervado said that they want the entrance to be reduced, according to a June 2024 voting report by the Research Center applied in the Apostolate (face) at the University of Georgetown. Only 23 percent favor more migration, just although 37 percent of respondents said they are Latin and 41 percent said they are Democrats. Only 30 percent said they were Republicans.
The announcement ends the role of the Church in federal refugee programs, which choose poor people from poor countries to transfer to US communities. The refugee program is not related to illegal migration on the borders, but it is an expense for taxpayers because migrants must be financed, educated and advised on how to fit into the society oriented to the merit of free market of Americans.
Trump largely finished the refugee program in his first term, but President Joe Biden revived the programs partly because meat pitching companies want fresh work.
The Church is also finishing its participation in the Federal Program of “Alien Children of Alien not accompanied.” The program has transmitted to more than one million young migrants of coyotes and posters through unscrupulous work and illegal migrant parents through the United States. In April 2024, Breitbart reported the following:
An illegal foreigner has been sentenced to six months in prison in Bedford County, Virginia, for sexual crimes with a 15 -year -old girl who was ordered in the United States an unaccompanied alien child (UAC).
Isauro García Cruz, an illegal foreigner of 43 years in Mexico, declared himself guilty in Bedford County this month of consensual sex with a child of 15 years or more. Cruz received 12 months in prison with six months suspended.
But Broglio insisted that the closure of migrants would not prevent Church inheritance from supporting more migration:
I want to be clear that this decision to put an end to our resettlement agency does not mean getting away from helping refugees and others. The Catholic Church will find new means to help those whom we have served in the past and will serve in the future. Bishops will also continually advocate vigorously for public policy reforms that provide safe and orderly immigration processes and guarantee everyone’s safety in our communities. There are no changes in our collective commitment to the lawyer on behalf of men, women and children who suffer the scourge of human trafficking.
“The path of the Crusade and mass deportation cannot be followed in conscience by those who are called disciples of Jesus Christ, and we must work to make sure that does not happen,” said Pope Francis’s new cardinal in DC in a speech on March 24.
Cardinal Robert Mcelroy celebrated migrants but minimized the migration system, with all his fixed incentives for exploitation, arbitration, abuse and cruelty:
They are exactly the type of people who want to come to our nation to help build it, make it more beautiful, so that so many of the values that are atrophy in our society with a secularity is a faith and the face of the face here.
…
This is really the biggest challenge: that we come to understand our time and demand our heritage as our nation, that we are people who were built by immigrants from each generation who came in the same way, Sixie differs desperate. We must make the centerpiece … or how we respond to this.
In addition, the Catholic Church is not closing migration activities by related groups. For example, the Independent Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc., played an important role in helping Biden deputies to move, hide and support at least 9 million southern migrants. The group’s website says:
Clinic provides training and support to a dedicated network of more than 400 Catholic and Community Immigration Law suppliers in 49 states. By supporting approximately 3,000 network employees with a diverse and in -depth training, updates and best practices in real time, the clinic finally serves almost 500,000 immigrants per year, which makes it the organization of the Largfit Immigration Law in the country. In addition to supporting the network, Clinic offers highly specialized direct legal representation and training and technical assistance for immigrant defenders about current practice and strategy before the courts. We also have a dedicated team that specializes in the religious immigration law to help religious workers reach the United States.
However, several other non -profit companies continue to earn money by helping the government extract refugees from poor countries.
It is likely that these groups yield to many employees and some facilities, since Trump deputies drastically reduce the Biden plan refugee program to import at least 100,000 people duration 2025.
