The State of California joined several other states on Friday to sue the Trump administration in a policy that prohibits “diversity, equity and inclusion” (DEI) in schools financed by the federal government, despite its 209 proposition.
At the beginning of April, the Trump Administration Department ordered the states to certify that they and their local school districts obeyed federal civil rights laws and did not use “illegal practices of Dei”.
Thors’s day, a federal judge blocked politics in a private lawsuit. And on Friday, 19 states, all governed by Democrats, sued the administration of their policy, claiming that Dei’s policies are necessary.
He San Francisco Chronicle He informed that California is among the states that demand the administration of Dei:
California is demanding the Trump administration of its threats to obtain funds from public schools due to diversity, equity and inclusion programs.
Earlier this month, the United States Department of Education threatened to revoke funds from schools that do not finish their Dei programs. In a lawsuit filed on Friday in the Federal Court, California and 18 other states argue that the loss of these funds would be “catastrophic.”
“The United States Department of Education is abandoning without apologies its mission of guaranteeing the same access to education with its last threat to end the Federal Education Financing wholesaler with Congress,” wrote the attorney general of California, Rob Bronta, in a statement. “Once again, the President has exceeded his authority under the Constitution and violated the law.”
Ironically, California’s proposal 209, approved by voters in 1996, prohibits the use of affirmative action “in the areas of public employment, public education and public procurement to the extent that these programs imply“ preferential treatment, sex, sex, here, here ,, r, while Dei goes beyond hiring and admission, California is in essence that it is in the administration of triumph by their own policy.
California’s voters affirmed proposition 209 in 2020 when voting for proposition 16, which Sough to reverse it, the same year that the voters themselves chose Democrats Joe Biden over Donald Trump.
