The main prosecutor who directs the most deadly bombing in the history of Argentina requested an order of judgment for the “supreme leader” Iranian of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei this week, identifying him as a key intellectual author of the attack.

Prosecutor Sebastián Basso also requested that Argentina formally ask Interpol for a red notice, or request for trial, for Khamei and began the procedures for a trial in the absence of Iranian officials identified as responsible for planning and executing the bombing. Such trial would not have precedents in Argentine history, since the nation only modified its Criminal Code to allow such essays last year.

The 1994 bombardment of the Argentine headquarters of the Israeli Mutual Association (AMIA) was the most deadly documented terrorist attack in the western hemisphere before 2001, killing 85 people and leaving doses injured. Argentine researchers for years have followed the evidence to the main leaders of the terrorist organization backed by Iran, Hezbollah, and the high officials of the Iranian government.

In 2007, Interpol announced that he had approved requests for red notices for 6 people with links with the Iranian government, but initial failed to move the president at that time, Ali Rafsanjani, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Akbar Veleimanpour.

Velayati and Soleimanpour are among the Basso requested a trial in absence to; Rafsanjani died in 2017.

The terrorist attack has been a source of decades of political controversy in Argentina, after the decision of the former leftist of Cristina Fernández the Kirchner of signing a memorandum of understanding with Iran that essentially the unequal. Fernández, who served as vice president in the administration prior to that of current President Javier Milei, is currently being processed by that decision, in addition to supporting several procedures on corruption positions.

Basso replaced prosecutor Alberto Nisman, who died in January 2015 in mysterious circumstances. The Fernández government, the Kirchner, wrote that he had committed suicide one day before he appeared before Congress with evidence that his government had conspired to protect the Iranian perpetrators of the crime. An order of Fernández’s trial was found in Nisman’s garbage.

Conformity with the Argentine newspaper The bornBasso wrote his request for judgment orders on Wednesday that AMIA bombardment, and a similar but less mortal attack against the Israeli embassy in 1992, could not have been possible without the support of the Iranian regime of the highest levels of power. Previous investigations of Argentina identified several members of the jihadist terrorist organization Hezbollah as directly responsible for logistics in the field of bombing.

“The sponsorship of the armed struggle of Hezbollah outside the Lebanon by the political organization that controls Iran’s fate, and remains, the main support of the given criminal association,” writes Basso.

Khamenei should be arrested personally, he explained, because “everything in Iran related to foreign policy and the use of force passes through it.” He identified a meeting in 1994 in Tehran in which he claimed that Khamenei presided over the plans to carry out the bombing.

“Since always, and to date, Khamenei is the main defender of groups that have military capacity such as Hezbollah,” said Heis’s requests.

The prosecutor rejected the possibility that, as a supreme leader, Khamenei enjoyed legal immunity, writing that “a sensible analysis of the matter … does not support the immunity of this nature before his responsibility for a terrorist against humanity.”

The Long List of Individuals Basso Clock A Trial In Absentia For, Rolding The Amia Bombing, Included, In Addition To The Aphorementione, Iranian Ceric Alí Fallahijan, ExpedientCy Council Member Membraren Rezai, Former Terrores Minister Ahmses Rabbani, Argentina-Based Diplomat Ahmad Reza Asghari, and Accused Hezbollah SALMAN RAOUF SALMAN MEMANERS, HUSSEIN Mounir Mouzannar, and Abdallah Salman. Not all named seem alive at the time of publication.

The born He informed that the judge responsible for the case has already decided to advance with a trial in absence, an unprecedented event in the history of the nation. The law that allows such judgments was formalized in February and was limited only to the atrocious crimes and those who committed themselves to Argentine soil.

Although Argentina has not yet prosecuted the persons in question in a trial, the Federal Criminal Cassation Court of the country ruled Iran and Hezbollah a year ago were jointly responsible for the 1992 and largest attacks in 1994. This ruling, although a significant step in the justice process did not result in the prosecution of any person.

The Iranian government, which at the time of publication remained silent about the situation publicly, condemned the 2024 ruling as “without foundation and without foundation” and has not repeatedly claimed guilt in terrorist attacks.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran believes that the last ruling on the reasons behind the explosion and its perpetrators was an amateur movement far from legal and judicial rigor,” said a man from the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs at that time.
