Newark, a 19 -year -old Newark man, faces positions of murder attempt in relation to a series of shootings in Alameda County, cordination to the authorities.
The first shooting occurred on December 20 in Union City and was followed by two others the same day in Newark, one in Arrowhead Place and the other in Noel Drive, said the Newark Police Department in a press release.
A person was injured in Noel Drive’s shooting, but since then he has recovered, police said.
Police said a fourth shooting in February occurred on February 24 at Spruce Street in Newark. No one was injured, but a residence and several vehicles were damaged by shots.
After an investigation of months, the detectives of the task force of crimes of the county of southern Alameda identified Xavier Medina as a suspect in three of the shootings, police said.
Medina was arrested on April 1 in Oakland. Police said the detectives presented the case to the prosecutors, who accused Medina of two positions of murder attempt, two charges of shooting to a inhabited masturbation and committing a serious crime while they were released on bail.
