Washington, DC – President Donald Trump was the host of the 2024 World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers in a celebration of the East Room in the White House on Monday.
Months eliminated from his victory of the World Series over the New York Yankees in October, in just five games, the Dodgers team full of stars joined Trump in the White House to commemorate his victory.
“On the course of this incredible season, the members of this team gave us some of the most incredible actions ever seen in the baseball diamond,” Trump said.
He praised the reigning MVP of the National League Shhehei Ohtani for his historical season, in which he became the first player to steal more than 50 bases and hit more than 50 homers in a season, establishing the “Club 50-50”.
“Even more incredible, Shohei said that achievement in what some have called the best game in history,” Trump said.
“On September 19, 2024, hey, the unthinkable going six for six … against the Marlins with three home runs, ten driven races and a pair of stolen bases. Apart from that, it was not a great game,” Trump joked.

The president also congratulated the Dodgers starring Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman, and made fun of Boston’s red socks for exchanging Betts to Los Angeles years ago. Betts and Freeman are among the best in the game.
The Clayton Kershaw pitcher, who is a future member of the Hall of Fame, spoke on behalf of the team and introduced Trump a shirt.
“This is an incredible honor for me to be here representing the Los Angeles Dodgers and this group of personnel and players behind me today,” Kershaw said.
He applauded the sacrifices of his teammates in search of his championship goal.
“The disinterest and humility that each of these players and the staff have shown about the last year is really an inspiration,” Kershaw said. “They have played constantly injured, changed position and assign the ball to put the team first.”
After the event, Trump and the Dodgers went to the Oval office.
