The AMD semiconductor giant continued with its plan to turn the ZT Systems servers manufacturing business.
AMD announced on Monday that it sold the ZT Systems servers manufacturing business to the Sanmina Electronic Manufacturing Services Company. The $ 3 billion agreement is a combination of cash and shares: $ 2.25 billion in cash; A $ 300 million premium, which includes 50% in cash and 50% capital; And a contingent payment of $ 450 million based on the financial performance of the next three years, according to Reuters.
The agreement is expected to be closed at the end of 2025, subject to the regulatory approach. After this divestment, AMD will maintain the AI SYSTEMS SYSTEMS SYSTEMS SCALE DESIGN DESIGN BUSINESS.

When AMD announced its intention to acquire Systems ZT, an AI and Cloud infrastructure company, for $ 4.9 billion in August 2024, the company said at that time that it planned to uninvert that part of the ZT Systems business after the formally closed agreement. The acquisition of ZT Systems Official AMD closed in March 2025, according to Reuters.
Together with this ad, AMD said that Sanmina will become a new manufacturing partner of “preferred” products for AMD Cloud Rack and Solutions AI on a cluster scale.
“By combining the deep experience of our AI systems design team with our new preferred NPI association with Sanmina, we hope to strengthen our manufacturing capabilities with headquarters in the United States for AI systems at RACH scale and cluster accelerations and accelerate the quality and market time for our clouds in the cloud,” said Forrest Norrod, executive vice president and general manager of Solutions, solutions.
