Last chance qualified notes
6:25: Andretti, Armstrong and Veekay have reserved places in 109 ° Indianapolis 500.
6:22: Abel falls short, with Anverage or 226,394. Veekay is inside, Abel is out.
“I feel relieved, but there is no real happiness,” says Veekay to Fox Sports. “Unfortunately, it was one of the two that was going to leave.
“Jacob is not just a teammate, he is a very good friend.”
6:21: Abel’s second round is a 226,423, and its average is only 226,501. It still has the additional impulse of its hybrid system, which could make a big difference.
6:20: Abel’s first round reaches 226,579, which is behind the first round that Veekay published.
6:17: Veekay reached 226,913, and the door is absolutely open for Abel to eliminate it from Indianapolis 500.
His first attempt reached 227,740, and his second was only 226,913. The door is very open.
Andretti and Armstrong are in the field, and is now due to Veekay and Abel with this last race.
6:16: Veekay’s first two laps are in the books and he is fine outside his rhythm of his first attempt. This race could be counterproductive about him if he ends up opening the Abel to jump in front of him.
6:13: Scratch that. Veekay only has tasks on the track and will offend. Instead of waiting to see what happens with Abel, they are putting a walk ahead of the rookie, maybe to secure a place and put Armstrong in the bubble.
6:10: Staying for minutes, and Abel will have the attempt at final classification or the qualification of the last chance. Or put it on the program, and take out the teammate of Dale Coyne Racing Rinus Veekay, or Veekay will be the last car on the network.
6:01: Abel turns a few laps, with the aim of cooling the engine, before returning to Pit Lane. The crew will screw the new tires and return to try to ensure a place in the program.
5:58: Abel is pushed down down, and is preparing to make another career with only about 20 minutes.
5:47: More images of Newgarden Running … and running:
5:43: Veekay’s effort reaches 227,740, which is good enough for third place and Bumps Abel, his teammate in Dale Coyne Racing, of the 500.
However, there are more than 30 minutes in the qualification of the last chance.
5:40: Absolutely hilarious scenes in Fox Sports while the cameras pick Josef Newgarden running to transmit their frustration for not obtaining a gain to qualify. At one point, Newgarden plays it with the Fox Sports cameras, since it runs parallel to the back directly as Rinus Veekay in its first attempt in the classification of the last chance.
Here is the NewGarden clip that is seen by the cameras:
5:37: The first classification race of Jacob Abel is recorded in 227,112, which is well outside the rhythm of Andretti and Armstrong. Abel Slots in third place at the moment.
5:30: Marco Andretti gathers four strong laps, with an average of 229,741, which places it at the top of the speed lists here in the classification of the last chance.
5:25: Armstrong establishes a reference point or 229,091, which is now the speed to win.
Reminder: This session has a 60 -minute watch. Drivers can take multiple attempts for a last qualification duration of four laps the last chance.
5:21: The qualification of the last chance is about to begin. For one of the drivers, Marcus Armstrong, today is an opportunity to recover after a hard accident in practice yesterday. Armstrong is the first to take to the track in the No. 66 Meyer Shank Racing Honda.
Four Lucks will participate in this session.
Fast 12 qualified notes
5:06: Here is a video by Cindric and Indycar Kevin Blanch technical director talking to Fox Sports:
5:01: Tim Cindric tells Fox Sports that “it is a pity that we made our boys a great change to do so.” His understanding is that Power’s car went through the inspection, but Newgarden failed based on a seam at the back of his car. The team believed that the power was probably at risk of failing a reinstation since the components were the same in both cars, so they also left the energy of the line.
4:48: Alex Palou does enough, with a brand or 231,800. The leader of the championship is through Firestone Fast Six.
4:45: The president of the Penske team, Tim Cindric, will go to the media in five minutes with respect to Newgarden and Power.
4:43: Pato O’ward jumps to P2 with a brand or 232,186, making it the fastest chevrolet of the grid. That reserve a place in Firestone Fast Six, but also eliminates its teammate Christian Lundgaard.
4:38: Veteran Scott Dixon reserves a place in Firestone Fast Six with a brand or 231,971. That is good for the second, only behind Rosenqvist. Rosenqvist, Dixon, Shwartzman and Sato are to the Firestone Fast Six, with only Pato O’ward and Alex Palou to try. At the moment, Maluas and Lundgaard are in the bubble.
4:32: The rookie Robert Shwartzman, who is running in an oval for the first time, and has reserved a place in the six fasts, since his average of 232.008 raises it to P2 with only free drivers. A great development for Shwartzman and Prema Racing
4:29: David Malukas pumps a four laps race with an average of 231,599, which places it in third place behind Rosenqvist and Sato.
Commentators about Fox Sports report that both Newgarden and power are fasting 12. That means we have a fourth All-Basel row of McLyhlin, Newgarden and Power.
4:24: Felix Rosenqvist faces the top with an average of 232,523, and his fourth lap was actually the fastest. A great Rosenqvist career.
4:20: Newgarden has also moved away from the line, and Fox Sports’s voice that both Newgarden’s car and Power’s car have failed in prequalifying technical inspections.
4:19: Takuma Sato jumps to the upper part of the speed lists with an effort of 231,686.
4:15: Marcus Ericsson ends with a brand or 231.014, which places it behind Lundgaard. But the great news is that both Will Power has just left the line, which means that he cannot try a classification career. Stay tuned.
4:11: Lundgaard establishes a reference point or 231,360 mph, which is the time when the rest of the 12 will pursue.
4:09: Christian Lundgaard by Arrow McLaren is first.
4:08 There are only 11 pilots in fasting 12. Scott McLaughlin’s accident in today’s practice has eliminated it from the session.
