New York and New Jersey are already beginning to harvest the benefits as one of the hot spots of the FIFA for two main events, the FIFA 2025 Club World Cup and the FIFA 2026 World Cup.
On Thursday, the president of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, announced that the global football organization will donate $ 1 million to the area in an effort to support sports programs and projects focused on the community.
It is part of an investment of $ 11 million in the cities that will organize club matches: Atlanta, Charlotte, NC, Cincinnati, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, Florida, Philadelphia, Washington and New York, through Metlier
“We want to do something for communities due to the things that surprise me here in North America, and this has to change, they are not enough facilities to play football in the right environment,” said Infantino in a statement. “Therefore, contributing to building something in the areas of the cities that are needed most is something we have to do. It is our responsibility, and I hope that many follow us in this.”
The Metlife Stadium will be a host for both important tournaments, and will be the site for the final World Cup FIFA Clubs match 2025, which begins on June 14.
