The causes of death for the family of five and the pilot killed in the tragic helicopter accident of the Hudson River have not yet been determined, since a relative of one of the dead has arrived in the United States to identify the bodies, authorities said on Saturday.
Jersey City mayor Steven Fulop said that Mercè Camprubi Montal, who died in the accident on Thursday next to the husband and his three young children, had flown from Spain on Friday.
“There is still enough a process to pass now,” Fulop told The Post on Saturday while waiting for a press conference from the National Transport Security Board.
“The family member may have to identify the bodies and still have to organize the transport of return to Spain. The Spanish consulate is involved and Siemens has people working on this.”
The bodies are kept in the office of the Hudson County Forensic doctor on the average.
“They still have to discover the cause of death, was it to drown or was it from the propeller?
Camprubi Montal, her husband, Agustin Escobar, and her three young children: Augustin, 10, Mercedes, 8 years old, and Victor, 4, and her pilot, the former veteran of the Navy Sean Johnson, 36, had about 25 minutes with her tourist tour at the Bell Sighseeing River and crashed into the frigides.
An aviation expert said that Johnson is likely to know that something was strongly bad when the helicopter separated in the air.
“I think the pilot aware that something was wrong, but passengers may not have,” said aviation lawyer Jim Brauchle to the post. “Obviously, pilots who fly all the time will know that something is wrong, but passengers may not appreciate the danger in which they are immediately.”
“Once the thing starts to turn, people know it is something catastrophic. Passengers Angelly discover it.”
Brauchle said that passengers and the pilot convicted could have died due to the trauma of forceful force or drowning.
“You expect people inside to be knocked out because they were aware, that they would have horrible bone. Once invested, they may have hit their heads inside the helicopter,” he said. “For your good, you expect that to have happened. There are many possibilities that they were unconscious.”
Brauchle added that once the helicopter rotor is separated from the aircraft and that the tail is cut, there is nothing for the most expert pilot he can do.
“Once you lose the rotor blades, it is unrecoverable. The reason why [the chopper] Flips upside down is that the helicopter roof is the heaviest part. Once you lose the main rotors, it essentially becomes a rock: there is nothing to create an elevator, “he said.
The relatives of the families of Camprubí Montal and Escobar say that they are comforting themselves because of the fact that loved ones “died together” “in the” sweetest moment of their lives. “
“There are no words to describe what we are experiencing, nor to thank you for the warmth,” said a letter published in X by Joan Camprubí Montal on Friday.
“These are very difficult times, but optimism and joy have always characterized our family,” said the statement, which was signed by 19 members of the Escobar and Camprubí Montal family. “We want to preserve the memory of a happy and united family, at the sweetest moment of their lives.
