The representative Diana Harshbarger (R-TN) and another 14 representatives urge the health and human services Sec. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to end the expense of CDC and NIH in the weapons control.
April 10, 2025, letter Posted by The owners of arms of America, Harshbargar opened when writing: “We wrote today to urge it to protect the second amendment from attacks by a partisan and armed administration for disease control and prevention (CDC) and national institutes for the Biden Biden administration.”
She pointed out:
The Congress restricted the use of funds to press for the control of weapons due to the weapons of the CDC and the NIH in the 1990s, but the safeguards of critical thesis allocations have ignored in recent years. The intention was protection against weapons owners of the Armament by the Clinton Administration. Then, the spokesman of the CDC, Dr. Mark Rosenberg, promoted the legs and control of weapons of the law …
Harshbarger added: “The same CDC also issued an anti-gun ‘study’ of the implementation of unconstitutional weapons control …”
She said that the Dickey amendment, which is the law of the country, prohibits the use of funds from CDC and NIH to “lawyer or promote arms control.”
Tennessee legislator later listed the funds of the CDC and NIH that have been bad for weapons control.
NiH malpropiad subsidies that they gave include:
- $ 3.6 million for “firearms retirement” for older people
- $ 1.2 million for “Check-Ins” in “Guns at Home”
- $ 2.1 million to study “possession of firearms” by Asian Americans
- $ 1.1 million in “Property of Weapons and Risk”
- $ 333 thousand to “promote” effective “weapons confiscation laws and waiting periods
- $ 518,000 in “Firearms Storage” and Confiscation Laws
- $ 490 thousand to compare the “weapons policies” of the states
- $ 349 thousand to show if “firearms laws reduce mortality”
Harshbarger and his signatories are asking Secretary Kennedy to cancel and/or block the thesis of funds.
