Hillsdale College, a conservative institution in Michigan that does not accept federal funds, has been trolling Harvard University, since he tries to combat the Trump administration on policy changes linked to federal subsidies.
As Breitbart News has reported, the government has demanded changes in Harvard’s policies and governance as part of an effort to combat anti -Semitism and eliminate radical ideologies of campus throughout the country. The administration has had about $ 9 billion in federal subsidies to Harvard in particular. Harvard is going back, describing the Trump administration approach as an infraction for academic freedom.
Hillsdale resigned from federal funds decades ago, after resisting government efforts to demand that students identify by race. Hillsdale fought, and lost, a legal battle that went to the Supreme Court, which determined that institutions that receive federal money cannot challenge federal educational policies. Hillsdale responded by rejecting federal money, which cost it in the short term, but benefited it in the long term, since it developed a reputation of intellectual integrity, political independence and academic excellence.
When Harvard administrators issued anger statements against the government, Hillsdale commented on X:
Several institutions have been attacked so far by the Trump administration. The University of Columbia decided to meet the demands of the Administration, instead of fighting it and risking $ 400 million in federal subsidies.
