Do they do what?
Each culture has its way of doing things, and the United States is no different.
Sometimes you need to get out of the bubble to realize that the “normal” things that are accustomed to doing or saying in their country of origin could be consulted strange by strangers.
A recently Reddit thread asked the Americans that the things they did not realize were rare until they talked to the non -Americans. Almost 8,000 people talked in the comments about everything, how different American medical attention is to the appearance of our public bathing positions to how people here do their taxes.
And because of the appearance of many valid points they were made over the United States and their ways of making the heads to do things. These are some of the funny comments of the thread.
The design of our swimsuits
“The gap under the bathrooms,” wrote a non -American.
“It is not only under the door, they are the holes on both sides of the by. Wherever it has been in Europe, the position is completely sealed, as it should,” added another person.
How we handle our disease at work
“Employers have to approach the disease time. Apparently in other countries, their doctor decides how long he has to take off and his employer has to have to resort,” said a commentator.
Another person agreed to write: “When I moved to Germany, I discovered that even if I already scheduled a free time at work, if you get sick, you recover that time.”
“I went to Dr. with streptococcal throat. She told you a note to stay at home house.
How Americans do their taxes
“Calculate your taxes. What do we do? I don’t know.
“I have a friend who is from the USA. Who moved to the United Kingdom. He was confused about his taxes when he received a letter saying that they owed money to his taxes. European squeezed.
“In Sweden, I only open an application, I verify the amount with the bank identification and I have finished,” said someone else.
How are Americans expected to tip all
“Tips and Sen are expected as part of the salary of a worker, but in many other countries, service charges are included in the bill, and tips are not so common or simply expected,” said an American.
“The really weird thing for me is that if I buy something at a variable cost, such as a bottle of wine, and the same amount of effort is needed to open and serve, it is still expected to provide that amount … at the end of the day that does it and hate.
Our love for garbage provisions at home
“Having a garbage elimination in the sink,” said someone.
“Like a non -American who lives in the United States, I love them too. I was very excited to move to a house with a Saudi friends lived in our house before us and also loved him,” he read another comment of agreement.
How much we love sugary foods
“Like all our food, somehow. I worked with foreign students every summer in HS and wondered why our food was so sweet. I didn’t realize until I traveled and ate in non -American places.
“My God, yes, it is so strange to eat sandwiches in the United States when bread is as sweet. As cake sandwiches,” he intervened in another person.
“I always have to adjust the Salteas sauce recipes of American blogs because they add a lot of sugar or maple syrup,” another not American written according to others.
How do we barely use our pto
“I work in a good government work comfortable with great benefits and good license … we rare and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and.
“In Australia, we get 4 weeks free for 12 months (if you work full time, 38 hours per week), which is quite good but not the best in the world,” said a commentator.
The way we organize our dates
“We do it that way is how we talk. Ify asks me the date on which” January 1, not January 1, “an American defended.
“One server asked me once in the United States, which month 18 was in my driver’s license. I had to explain that in the United Kingdom we have it as day, month, year,” he squeezed another commentator.
