Eternal LTD (previously known as Zomato LTD) said Thursday that it is closing the rapid and daily zomato initiatives, since it does not see them emerge as sustainable models due to the lack of demand.
The food delivery platform had launched Zomato Quick, which delivered food in less than 15 minutes in January. The company continues to direct Bistro by Blinkit as a separate application that competes with players such as Swiggy Snacc and Zept Coffee.
In the letter of the shareholder, Deepiner Goyal declared: “We are closing both initiatives, since we are not seeing the path to profitability in these without compromising the customer experience. The density and current cuisine of the restaurants in the delivery was not an inconsistent client experience.
In the earning call, the management of the company Sid that Zomato Quick was an attempt to reduce the delivery time of approximately 30 minutes to a boom of 10 minutes, but did not see any incrementality in demand. “But, of course, there is a range with a range between 10 and 30 minutes. Therefore, our opinion is that we must try to reduce it to approximately 20-25 minutes making the general logistics delivery system more efficient. Those are the profits to cushion Weerde are the gains to cushion. Control from end to end in the supply chain,” added the company’s management in the call.
In 2023, Zomato had launched every day, which focused on offering fresh and homemade meals at affordable prices.
“With every day, we realized that the need for home matrices is a limited use largely for OCE locations in meters. We did not see enough ROI by keeping it working on a small scale,” Goyal said.
Meanwhile, the company said its district application is expanding as for expectations. “The transition has a leg in the expected lines. In Q4Fy25, approximately one third of the output government was made through the application of the district. We hope Goyal.
