Bill Maher doubted the former governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, could overcome his management of the duration of elderly households, the Coronavirus pandemic by discussing his mayor aspirations.
The “Real Time” presenter spoke with Cuomo’s brother, former CNN presenter Chris Cuomo, about the former governor’s offer by the Mayor of New York in the Podcast “Club Random” of Maher on Sunday. Althegh Cuomo leads in the surveys against other Democratic candidates and the current mayor of New York, Eric Adams, who left the party to run as an independent, Maher suggested that his last directives COVID-19 could pursue him.
“I don’t think I will get the elderly home,” Maher said before suggesting that Cuomo has to own the problem.
He added: “Politics is an act of height. An erection decision can cause people to leave:” I’m sorry, I can’t trust that type’s trial. “Or they don’t.
On the contrary, Chris Cuomo commented that he believed that the scandal would not determine the race, but that would be the pressure of the Democrats.
“I think he has a lot of pressure against him within that party,” said Chris Cuomo. “And they will have to make a decision to be in power or who want to monitor their own beliefs within their party. I mean, they have to decide. What are they treated as a party?”
Andrew Cuomo was criticized about a controversial directive issued in March 2020 that initially prohibited elderly homes from refusing to accept patients who had positive for COVID-19. The directive was aimed at releasing the bed in the event that hospitals are exaggerated, but then terminated in the midst of speculation that had accelerated outbreaks and deaths among the most full population of the State.
A report published in March 2022 for the Comptroller of the State of New York then found that the Cuomo Health Department “was not transparent in its report on Covid-19 deaths in elderly homes” and “underestimated the number as homes in elderly homes in elderly homes in the homes of elderly households.
Cuomo finally resigned in August 2021 after the accusations of sexual harassment, which he denies.
In response to the offer as mayor of Cuomo, Adams told journalists that the former governor should “answer” for his role in the deaths of nursing homes.
“I am with some of the members and defenders of the family of elderly households. There are some things that we must do with them. But that search has to answer on the way,” Adams replied. “Should it be an automatic disqualification? No, I think it must be answered on the road, exactly what happened. And I think some of those family members await it.”
In a comment to Fox News Digital, the Cuomo campaign argued its original directive, according to the federal orientation and the opponents accused of playing “political games” with the problem.
“More than 1 million Americans died as a result of the Covid pandemic, and our hearts are broken by the families of each person who lost a loved one, but unfortunately, as the Doj IG confirmed, that the pain has not been the pork pain.” The statement is read.
