Winnipeg Jets prospect Chaz Lucius retires at 21 due to disorder

A 21 -year -old NHL prospect has decided to retire after doctors discovered Realson behind their frequent injuries in the joints.

A Native from Lawrence, Kan., Lucius represented the United States in the 2023 world juniors, where he helped the team capture bronze.

He scored the winning goal of the game in extra time to finish a Hat Trick in the 8-7 victory of the Americans over Sweden in the bronze medal game.

Lucius signed a professional contract with the Jets in 2022 after a university season in Minnesota, but never appeared in a regular NHL season game.

Lucius had three goals and six assists in 25 games this season for the AHL team of the Jets, Manitoba Moose.

“I hope to be a lawyer of those who suffer with EDS and everything that is ahead,” Lucius said.
