Santa Clara – Teddye Buchanan is in contact with the history of the 49ers, after having been in the lists of Candlestick Park for the loss of the NFC championship game of his 2011 team.
On Wednesday, Buchanan will come to the Levi Stadium for the local professional day of the 49ers with other NFL Draft candidates.
The 49ers have not recruited a calm player since the Andre Carter defensive wing in the first round of 2001, and that could change with Buchanan, who stood out as a lime supporter last year when transferred from UC Davis.
“It would be really great to have the opportunity to play there,” Buchanan said after the professional day of Cal two weeks ago. “I have seen the niners all my life. I’ve been to the Nike Games. I was in the NFC championship in 2012 in Candlestick.”
Now he hopes to solve the deficit of the supporter of the 49ers and align with three times all-prd Warner, whom he calls “the new prototype” in the supporter. Buchanan looks more like Warner than the former opener of the 49ers, Dre Greenlaw, who left at the free agency last month for the Denver Broncos.
“(Warner) is who compares me and I feel that he is the best supporter at this time,” said Buchanan. “We have similar body types. Similar game styles.”
Warner was recruited in the third round of 2018 (no. 70 in general) after measuring 6 feet 3 and 236 pounds in the NFL exploration combination. The chiseled frame of Buchanan, Bosa-Sque, has 6-2, 233 pounds.
Buchanan, however, is projected more as a draft selection of day 3, and simply noticed that he will be happy “where the chips fall.”
It is likely that his stock would rise in the harvester, where he led the supporters in the jump exercises (vertical of 40 inches; 10½ feet wide) and bank press (26 repetitions; tied with the Nick Martin of the state of Oklahoma). The one classified as the ninth and face supporter (40 seconds of 40 yards; 1.59 seconds of 10 yards division).
He will remain in those numbers instead of greater hearing for the 49ers while he still adheres his professional day, according to his agent.
“I feel that the teams are happy with what I put in the combination,” Buchanan said. “Two demonstrated that I am a dynamic athlete who can do many things in the field, and they were happy with the position exercises. I was happy to leave Indy doing what I wanted to do.”
Buchanan is a native of Palo Alto and Graduate of San Ignacio High-San Francisco that was transferred to CAL after three years in UC Davis. It was the main tacle of lime last season (114 cup, third in the ACC).
The 49ers can be in their backyard, but they are their second favorite team, behind Washington’s commanders, his father’s favorite, Arron Smith. Buchanan added: “My dad is from there. But I liked the niners. I hope. That would be really great.”
Carter, by the way, also went to high school in the Bay area (Oak Grove High) before attending lime and being recruited (No. 7 in general) by 49ers. Totalized 32 captures around five seasons before finishing their 13 years of career in Washington (2006-2010), the Oakland Raiders (2012) and the New England Patriots (2013).
