Vice President JD Vance illuminated Senator Mitch McConnell (R-Ky) after the senator voted against the nomination of Elbridge Colby to serve as a policy secretary in the Department of Defense, describing the measure as a great sample of “political meanness.”
“Mitch’s vote today, like much of the last years of his career, is one of the great acts of political meanness I have seen,” said Vance, since Colby’s nomination took the worst of the globalists.

In particular, McConnell was the only Republican to vote against Colby’s nomination. He does not seek re -election in 2026.
