A former Californian declared himself guilty of “selling hundreds of thousands of dollars” of fake sports and memories of celebrities, “the United States Department of Justice in California announced on Monday.
Anthony J. Tremayne, 58, promised a position of postal fraud and faces a maximum of 20 years in the Federal Prison, according to a press release.
Tremayne had been living in West Covina, California, and currently resides in Rosarito, Mexico.
He admitted to having sold more than $ 250,000 and up to $ 550,000 in false memories, American officials said.
That included articles that sought to be signed by members of Los Angeles Lakers, the Los Angeles Clippers, Chicago Bulls, Miami Heat, Los Angeles Angels (then from Anaheim), Los Angeles Kings and “A Golf Star,” witnesses said according to ESPN.
The list of laundry articles also included signed replicas Stanley Cups, signed boxing gloves and professional jackets of the football hall.
Tremayne came to send “certificate of authenticity”, while both the article and the authenticity form were false, according to the press release.

Tremayne will return to the courts for a sentence hearing on August 11.
When taking the plea, Tremayne knocked down the positions she faced, which includes 13 charges of electronic fraud, three positions of postal fraud and three charges of aggravated robbery.
Federal prosecutors had also claimed that Tremayne had moved to Mexico to bend approximately $ 1.4 million in taxes in the United States.
