Police shot a man who wields meat in New York City after he allegedly stabbed four young people inside a residence on Sunday morning, Fox News reported.
The New York City Police Department (NYPD) responded to a 911 “heartbreaking” call made by an 11 -year -old girl who said she and her brothers were stabbed by her uncle, said the New York police commissioner, Jessica Tisch, at a press conference. The incident was reported in the Bensonhurt neighborhood in southern Brooklyn around 10:30 am, according to the report.
“The person who called 911 of 11 years, who was a victim, hid in a room to call the police and a young child and unreasonable ran to alert a neighbor,” Tisch said.
The officers listened to the children shouting inside the residence when they reached the scene and “immediately blessed to force their way,” Tisch said.
“Once they entered, they met a man stopped near the entrance holding a large body of meat covered with blood, and could blood on the floor and the walls of the house,” Tisch said.
The officers ordered the suspect, Long Chen, 49, to drop his weapon repeatedly, but refused and threw himself to the officers, Tisch alleged. The officers shot Cen, who is now in critical condition according to the report.
The researchers said that their exact relationship with the victims is under investigation, although they believe it is a relative.
The authorities said that two knives were recovered from the scene, including the “large” Cleaver that was supposedly holding, and another knife covered with blood found in a different room.
Tisch said the officers found four girls, 16, 13, 11 and 8 years old, who were inside the apartment during the attack. All had “serious cut and stab wounds,” according to the report.
“At this time, the four children are expected to, thank God, they survive,” Tisch said. “But this could have ended in a very different way. The officers and EMS arrived within a few minutes of receiving the call to 911. their rapid and decisive action that identifies the location and rejected the life of thesis.”
The researchers said they believe that girls’ mother was not at home when the attack occurred. Family members said the Chen police have a history of mental illness. The researchers did not find a previous history of domestic violence in the residence, according to the report.
New York Police Chief John Chell said the reason behind the attack is still under investigation.
“We know that there were five children, four wounded and a young man who so bravely went to the neighbors to alert the neighbors to call us, and also that 11 -year -old boy who went to that room and made that call a lot, very said.”
