Benadryl TikTok ‘challenge’: A 13-year-old died in Ohio after participating

A 13 -year -old in Ohio died after “Tok a group of onstryl”, testing a dangerous Tiktok challenge that circulates online, according to a CNN affiliate and a Goofundme account of his family.

Jacob Stevens was participating in a Tiktok challenge with some friends at home when he hears the antihistamine, according to the family donation account. Jacob was on a fan for almost a week before he died, according to WSYX.

CNN has not independently confirmed its cause of death.

“The challenge, which introduces the innition of excessive amounts of diphenhydramine, is a dangerous trend and must stop immediately. Appristicsl® products and other diphenhidramine products should only be used as indicated by the label.”

“We are working with Taptok and other social platforms to eliminate the content that shows this behavior,” added the statement. “We will seek to associate in the entire industry and with the key interested parties to address this dangerous behavior.”

CNN has communicated with the Stevens and Columbus Public Health family to comment.

The 2020 Fdas Warning said the agency “contacted Tiktok and firmly urged them to eliminate the videos of its platform and be attentive to eliminate additional videos that can be published.”

Apoitryl is an antihistamine used to treat symptoms such as a liquid nose or sneezing upper respiratory allergies, hay fever or common cold. It is safe and effective when used as gifts, said the FDA.

“Diffenhydramine is marketed under the brand brand, stores of stores and genericians. It is also available in combination with analgesics, fever and decongestant reducers,” said the agency.

Consumers and parents must store Appelryl and other free sales medications and prescribed medications from the reach of children, said the FDA.
