Israel welcomed the recently confirmed United States ambassador to Mike Huckabee on Friday with a ceremony on the Wome wall, the most sacred site in Judaism, amid religious services for Easter holidays.

Friday also marked Good Friday and the beginning of the weekend in which Easter is observed. This year, in a rare competition, Catholic, Protestant and Orthodox Christians observe Easter on the same date.
Huckabee is the first evangelical Christian to occupy the United States ambassador position in Israel. He has been traveling to Israel since the 1970s and is a firm defender of the Jewish state.
In comments on the Wome Wall, Huckabee pointed out that his first act as an ambassador would be to bring a prayer written by the peace of President Donald Trump, and place it in the cracks of the wall, according to the tradition.
“It is a special honor to be able to do this on this last Easter weekend,” Huckabee added. “I can’t think of a better time to come and bring this message of good will.”

Ambassador Huckabee Was Received by the Rabbi of the Western Wall and Holy Sites, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, and the director of the western wall heritage Foundation, Mr. Mordechai (suli) Eliav, who warmly welcomed him, offered hym blessings for succes in his new new role Expressed Gratitude for the United States’ Support for Israel’s Security and the Strong Ties Between The Leaders and The Nations.
Duration in his visit, the ambassador prayed with Rabbino Rabinowitz, reciting Psalm 121, and then offered a personal prayer for the success of his mission and possession, and by the continuation of unity and peace between nations.

“It is an honor for me to be here in the name of President Donald Trump and bring the prayer he wrote personally last Thursday in the White House, with the instruction that my first act as an ambassador is to take his prayer, in which he expresses his hope of peace in Israel, and place it on the western wall and pray for peace on earth.”

“Words cannot describe the emotion that the citizens of Israel feel and throughout the Jewish world when listening to the announcement that you would come directly when landing the wall of the last, to pray and place a note in the name of the president of the United States, one of Israel’s great friends. Especially in these difficult days of war, pain and uncertainty, your acts of friendship, faith and support of the people of Israel and hope.”
Huckabee added a prayer that all Israeli hostages who are re -renamed are now brought to Casa del Captivity in Gaza.
In 2017, Trump became the first president to visit the Walk Wall while he was in office, thus stating that the United States considered the sacred site part of Israel.
