A police chief asked Legislet to allow positive discrimination after his strength was displayed by temporarily prohibiting white candidates to boost the recruitment of ethnic minorities.
The West Yorkshire Police Chief, John Robins, has defended racial discrimination in the contracting practices of police forces, saying, by The telegraph, Which remained with its previous demand that the “legislation changed” to allow the prioritization of ethnic minorities over white candidates.
A force spokesman said: “The position of the police chief has not changed. It is a national opinion he has.”
Robins had previously argued in 2023 that other efforts to boost police diversity had failed and, therefore, the government should introduce a law that allows a “positive discrimination.” He affirmed that such movement would not result in a loosening of the standards.
It occurred after it was reported that West Yorkshire police enacted a temporary prohibition of hiring white candidates while allowing requests from people from “over -pre -appointed groups.”
A complainant said that the force had just created a desirable ethnicitis level system, with black and oriental candidates of Asia classified as “gold” in terms of desirability. On the contrary, Southeast Asians were classified as “silver” and “other whites”, including Irish and European candidates, were classified as “bronze” level.
The report caused accusations of racial bias against whites and positive discrimination, which is illegal in England and Wales.
Former British Prime Minister Liz Truss written In X: “He cannot bear that a police chief openly seek racist contracting policies and make political statements. Again, the decision making by inexplicable people who have been captured by the Woke ideology. Interior Secretary Shourld takes control.”
The conservative deputy Neil O’Brien added: “What the West Yorkshire police are doing with their racist contracting policies and the division of different ethnic groups is the edge of the edge of the law. It is not surprising to discover that these have been by the lawyer of the lawyer of the lawyer of the lawyer of the law of the law of the law of the law of the legislators.
“With the crime with firearms in West Yorkshire in a record, many people might think that the local police could have more important things to focus on.”
The police force has affirmed that, although the minorities received the preferential access door in the application stage, the same criteria would ultimately be used to evaluate all applicants who last the hiring process.
The leftist Labor Government has closed the opposition calls to prohibit such practices by the police forces, with the Secretary of the Interior, Yvette Cooper, stating that the West Yorkshire police were following the “just recruitment standards.”
