Johnny Carson was the best night host in the United States.

The most beloved concert of the comedian was the host of “The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson” for 30 seasons from 1962 to his retirement in 1992.

His nephew, Jeff Sotzing, worked with his uncle, starting as a receptionist in 1977, before becoming a producer in the program for ’92.

“I think he would feel flattered,” the television producer exclusively to the publication of how the deceased star would think of the current “Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.”

“It has so many elements that the ‘show of tonight’ in which I worked did not have due to technology. It is this analogue, so you cannot roll tape to the program … it is this very fast rhythm [show]. I think it would be good with that. I think I would be proud of it, real. It is a good franchise. “

Sotzing also touched the biggest challenge that he and Carson faced while producing the show.

“Oh, [John F.] Kennedy murder. Ronald Reagan was shot, “expresses. When there is a tragedy in the United States, the real program turned out to be a good relief for people.”

Sotzing added: “They wanted to sleep happy and entertaining, so that was the son of his treatment. This will be fun, as I say, he is not destined to press. And I think he worked on that all those years. Seven different presidents.”

Around those 30 years, Carson had a variety of guests, from Robin Williams and Jane Fonda to musical acts such as her Fitzgerald and Elton John. Many attribute their performances in the “The Tonight Show” stage to start their careers.

But like any good host, Carson did not choose the favorites.

“Hee does not have a favorite guest, but he loved the people who were prepared,” Sotzing revealed. “So Steve Martin and Bette Midler, only Tony Randall, who would come and only tell stories. ORSON BEAN. He liked people like that. Anyone who was prepared.”

Duration An event sitting at the Hilton in Woodland Hills, the pilot ran through a typical day in the set “The Tonight Show”, which starts long before the signal in the air was lit at 5:30 pm

“So all in the morning at 9 o’clock, there were several writers who would gather a monologue. There were four or five perhaps at the same time,” said Carson Entertainment Group told the crowd. “Then we put them in an envelope and had to call a messenger, and a messenger would pick up with the monologues, and take him to Johnny’s house in Malibu.”

Once delivered to the ownership of the ocean side, Carson would pass over the monologues and “would surround those who wanted, put them in order and bring them to the study and give them the type of reference card and put them on a reference cards.”

The work was far from finishing, since “then the Bookers would enter and have a reservation meeting from 10 to 11, and we would have a production meeting at 11 on the clock to 12. We had an hour of lunch and the trial of either of the two was the show of the show and that was then incredible, simply incredible.”

Living so far from the study, which was located in Burbank, made for a difficult trip, as special when Carson was known for his punctuality.

At one point, however, he found the perfect solution for his uncle.

“Towards The End of the Show, I have drugs in from Malibu. It Tok Him Twoo Land to eat and The Like Tociffu, and Land to eat and the like to the shalling, and land we could do that daily.

Sotzing then went to Van Nies and found a helicopter rental company.

“I flushed. I timed it, we fly back to NBC, it was great. A fast 15 minutes pair. A couple of days later, he tells me,” Did you ever hear about that helicopter? “I said: ‘Yes, it’s amazing. Hello,” that’s great! “I said,” it costs $ 300 in each direction. “Hey,” What? “I said ‘is $ 300 in each sense.’ He says:” Jeff, who spends $ 600 per day to go to work? “

Despite winning $ 20 to 30 million a year, he did not move.

Sotzing joked: “So he didn’t, because he was simply outrageous for him.” However, it is not clear if Carson used a helicopter sometimes to travel for his work, which is still possible.

Alleje doing the walk to work at some point, Carson really loved his career. He was a man of the people, bringing people every day to show his talent or, in some cases, his animals!

“Everyone relates to him,” Sotzing explained the event. “People thought it was his best friend. They had no trouble getting to him and telling him how much they liked and simply loved it. He thought it was simply excellent.”

The iconic scenario was the home not only of Carson, but of his right hand, Ed McMahon and the Studios Live Band “Doc Severinsen and the NBC orchestra”.

“Ed McMahon was really a pillar of the show, “Chuck Street, president of Hollywood media professionals, and the event presenter told Sotzing.” But also, the leader of his band, Doc Severinsen. He was a brilliant musician. “

“In the 60s, each network had to have a complete orchestra if you made a special like a ‘Dean Martin Roast’ or ‘The Carol Burnett Show’, the NBC or the CBS or the ABC orchestra would return to you,” Sotzing explained.

“Then, when the program moved to California in the ’72, NBC said we do not want to pay the thesis 18 of the 18 every night to come and make the show. We could get a four -piece band, like a rock band. That will be more perium.”

Carson, however, had a different idea.

“Johnny said:” No, no. I want a great band. I want a great band. “And as I was in a position of power, he was able to maintain that great band and had it for 20 more years. Sotzing recalled.” They come at 2 o’clock. They make trials, support people, end at 6 o’clock and can do another concert. And they were all incredible musicians. “

The last “Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson” AAAAAAA was broadcast on May 22, 1992 with the a whopping of 60 million people tune in to see.

“It was incredible to me to see my uncle start the program and then with him when the program ended,” Sotzing reflected. “And they never had standing ovations. He is a child like a forced Lay-Down. He was a child that no one stood. But the audience remained during the last month when he left. And every day it was longer and longer and longer.”

Carson knew how special that was.

“The support too much for him and the honor for him was simply incredible,” Sotzing shared. “He said, after having a standing ovation or about five minutes in the next for the last show, he said:” I can’t do this. How am I going to do this? It is too difficult. “It was amazing, really wonderful.
