Re: “The decision of the transgender flag is unfair” (page A6, April 9).
In Pete Campbell’s letter to the editor about the decision to fly the transgender flag in the offices of Santa Clara County, he affirms that no group should receive a special treatment and that it is unfair. This is how I see it.
The American flag that flies in all government offices repeats all Americans and freedoms that go to be American. The trans community, however, is regularly discriminated against. His freedoms are often challenged daily. I think living with fear is unfair. When the trans flag flying, Santa Clara County is demonstrating that in this county, trans people are already recognized from discrimination. Flying the transgender flag says that these people also have basic freedoms.
Then, the trans flag and wave of the American flag proudly together in the offices of our county that represent all of us.San Josélp cities with costs” (page A1, April 8).
Mayor Mahan Lawying for SB 16 was unfortunate. In California alone, the mayor of San José worked to support a state measure to force counties to help pay housing for homeless people. Why are we working to house homeless people in an area where it is the most extent?
Mayor Mahan acknowledges that San José spends about 3.5% of his budget (our money) on homeless people. This will only get worse as consumers buy more from Amazon and sales taxes decrease. As the government works to encourage more people to migrate to this area, the problem will grow.
The real solution is to work with cities in areas where housing is not so expensive and transferred to the homeless people to those places.

First, they cut federal jobs and destroyed key programs, that’s not a reform, that’s simply lazy. Real efficiency means identifying real waste, fixing what is broken and strengthening what works. It requires intelligent supervision, not sweep cuts. But that is the hard path, and they took it.
Now, they have embraced the marginal economy, imposing mass and random rates, now they stop. The result? They are not only lazy, they are alienating the allies and risk a recession.
In the last elections, Americans voted to reduce inflation. But recent policies have shaken markets and retirement accounts.
As the half periods approach, voters must remember who falls this damage and who is paying the price.

Re: “First black woman to lead the California Republican Party ready to face the Democrats” (page A, April 6).
Writing bright pineapples about anyone in a leadership position of the antidemocratic Republican Party, unconstitution at this time seems deaf and inappropriate.
Let’s not forget that his final boss, Donald Trump, is a literal criminal and that anyone who works for him is consulted corrupt until proven otherwise. I’m sorry, but it’s true.
For Republicans to success now, the small democracy D and the rule of law must fail. This cannot be treated as a business “both sides” as usual.

The Social Security Administration was established in 1935. Medicare began in 1965. These programs have operated for years. It seems incredible and beyond my level of understanding that the thesis agencies supposedly were plagued with fraud, and the stranger not chosen Elon Musk was the first to discover it.
The United States is 248 years old. Our country took decades of action to progress and build a stable democracy. Musk and Donald Trump work hard to destroy everything in four months.
Trump states that people (for what he says) encourages him to look for a third mandate. Four months of him is too much.
