Portnoy denied that his company spread the rumors on the platforms owned by Barstool when the story first exploded in February.
“Barrstool Sports did not mention or spread this rumor in any of our Barstool -owned channels as far as I know,” Portnoy said in February. “Our editors instinctively made the decision to avoid this story, it seemed that there was a high probability that it could be manufactured. If I am wrong, I am happy to see where it was published and visit again.”
Regarding Clancy’s video, Portnoy said: “We do not control the personal social of our employees. Whatever they publish on their own is their own thing.”

“We will try to solve that and do some kind of silver lining in a very terrible situation. You can have that promise of mine.”
Cornett told NBC News last week that Mcafee never asked about the validity of the story.
Since then, the 19 -year -old has threatened legal actions against McAfee and ESPN for her role in disseminating rumors about her.
“I thought it was absolutely ridiculous that a station SPN Sports was talking about the ‘sexual scandal’ of a 19 -year -old girl who was completely false,” he said.
