Matt Gay is out of work.

The veteran kick was launched by Colts only two years in a four -year contract after an unstable section in Indianapolis.

The Colts signed Gay with a $ 22.5 million contract that would have maintained it with the franchise until 2026 after the Pro Bowl did for the 2023 duration of the Rams.

The contract, at that time, was the largest free agency agreement delivered to a kicker in the history of the NFL.

Gay converted 64 or 78 field goal attempts (82.1 percent) by calculating his time with the colts.

From 50 yards or long, Gay fought only more, hitting only half (11 or 22) or its attempts from that distance.

Before coming to Indianapolis, Gay had reached 17 or 23 attempts of 50 yards or more.

In three years with the Rams, he had done 92.5 percent of his attempts.

It is not clear who will take Gay’s work, but the team signed Spencer Schader, who spent time with the Turtlas, Jets and Chiefs last season and reached the five or its attempts at the field goal, to an agreement last month.

Gay underwent her pre -season hernia surgery, which made him fail week 1, although he wrote a writing of anyone who is injuries with their struggles.

“Kicking is very, very mental,” said Gay told journalists in autumn. “I am very good from more than 50 years in my career, and I have full confidence in the future that I can kick thesis. I have shown that I can do that.”

Colts also face questions in the field Marshal this low season.

In February, the general manager of Indianapolis, Chris Ballard, said he wanted a “true competition” for Anthony Richardson, who has been disappointing for two seasons after being recruited No. 4 in general in 2023.

The Colts signed the former Marshal of Campo de los Gigantes, Daniel Jones, who will presume to compete for the initial work, in March.
