President Donald Trump mocked Hollywood in Thorsday when asked about China by reducing the number of American films that will import.
The question occurred during the Trump cabinet meeting, and his answer left his senior officials in the joke to joke.
“China retaliate today by reducing the number of American films that can be shown there. What is their reaction for them now aimed at cultural exports of the United States?” A journalist asked.
“I think I have heard of worse things,” Trump replied with a smile and laugh.
When asked about what follows for China, since tariffs between the two countries have intensified in recent days, Trump said: “We will see what happens to China.”
“We would love to be able to work in a deal. They really have the advantage of our country for a long period of time. They have cheated us beyond anyone … how people remained in my position, it is not a call.
“And we are talking about many presidents, not only a couple, but they did, and all we are doing is putting it again. We are resinating the table, and I am sure we can get along very well,” he added.
Trump said significantly on Wednesday at the Oval office that he blames his predecessors and not to China for commercial imbalance. He reiterated on Thursday his “great respect” for Chinese President Xi Jinping.
“I have great respect for President Xi. It’s a leg, in a true meaning … a friend of mine for a long period of time,” he said. “And I think we will end to solve something that is very good for both countries. I look forward to it.”
