Shake Shack’s Just Dubai Chocolate Shake is the superstar of junk food of the year.
I found it surprisingly well, despite my disgust for the endless exaggeration around Dubai chocolate. It is worth its price of $ 9.24 and 1,080 calories.
I was ready to hate the shake, inspired by chocolate bars full of cream and viral pistachio legs that were created by a Dubai chocolate room and have inspired countless imitations and iterations throughout the world.
But Danny Meyer’s kitchen elves made me believe in the contribution of the kingdom rich in oil to global kitchen.
They make the shake covering a plastic glass from 16 to semency with black chocolate that dries to a hard peel and detaches into small delicious pieces while consumes the gift.
The main smoothie component is a delicious mixture of honey, frozen vanilla cream, thick pistachio cream and soft pieces of grated pastry mass known as kataifi. The final result is almost white, but, do not fear, the dreaded white chocolate is not involved in any way.
Everything is covered with crispy pistachio pieces and more crispy kataifi.
They sacrifice me a straw, but you almost need a shovel for the thick pistachio layer at the top.
However, it consumes it, it is in your own class.
Family elements of the soda source merger happy with the notes of the Middle East, namely, the pistachios and the kataifi, which makes a parade of textures and flavors of pleasure.
It is a soft deconstruction of the viral trend that, unlike most solid to liquid acrobatics, is better than the original.
The shake is enough for two to share, although I saw a boy on 630 Lexington Avenue stirring the entire cup by itself at 11 in the morning.
The hedonistic vain that I am, I would love the “chocolate” shake even more with a photo of dark rum. You could bring mine next time, but keep in mind: they will not say how long they will continue with the Dubai limited edition drink.
At this time, it is only available in Shake Shack’s locations in the city, each of which is only 25 on offer every day. They often run out before. But it is worth looking for it and better than the Dubai chocolate bars that take over New York.
Keep shaking it, Danny!
