EU Continues Move Towards Trump Deal with Pause on Metals Tariffs

The European Union has suspended its retaliation rates announced against the United States in favor of negotiating an agreement, saying that it has a “task note” or the pause of the Trump rate in all countries, except in China.

“We want to give negotiations a chance,” said the head of the European Commission on Thursday when he reflected the movement of President Donald Trump to suspend tariffs worldwide, except for China of commercial warm mentality.

The European Union only approved its “retaliation tasks” on Wednesday afternoon, a response to Donald Trump’s steel and aluminum rates, which had been diluted from previous proposals and reached only a fraction of what the United States proposes to impose. Now, only a few hours later, that slight response has been suspended, with Ursula von der Leading saying that “we take note of the announcement of President Trump” and saying that they would put their measures “waiting for 90 days.”

This is to allow negotiations to make a commercial agreement and, if it succeeds, the impulse of EU rates, or the course, the union already has a wide network of rates and other commercial barriers to protect its internal market, it can be the Canald leg in place.

Von der Leyen, once better known as Angela Merkel’s defense defense, but that successful fell to the maximum work of the European Commission, however, a hard wish said in line with President Trump. In fact, he warned today “continues the preparatory work on additional countermeasures … All options remain on the table.”

President Trump, on the other hand, Hasbet Tys, revealing that countries around the world have Bean surpassing his own for conversations as announced by the global reciprocal tariff scheme now suspended, and the European Union is one of those powers. Behind the somewhat belligent rhetoric and the touch in the commercial war seen in public, behind closed doors, the block is working for an agreement with the United States.

But as Trump express it, the first engines will reap the greatest rewards in more agile agreements and countries such as the United Kingdom or Japan seems to be ready to obtain an agreement signed first. While the European Union can be genuine in its desire to commit to Washington in its mission of rebuilding the global trade agreement, the fundamental disadvantages of the sclera union, such as its lack of agility, will inevitably decrease progress.
