The New Jet Field Marshal, Justin Fields, is ready to show what he can do.

The Jets are the third first round team, perhaps their last chance to show that it can be a headline in the NFL.

Fields seems to be ready to show everyone who can do it.

“Definitely something I want to try for myself,” Fields said Wednesday at his first meeting with the media since he signed with the jets. “And I think my expectations for me are higher than those of any other person to be honest with you. So something to show me for myself.

“And again I think I have bones improving every year I have bones in the League. So I seek to do the investigation this year, to be honest with you. But I think that my expectations for my self are higher than you are higher than all errors and this building.”

The Jets signed Fields with a two -year contract and $ 40 million last month and said that Fields will enter spring as the titular field marshal on Tyrod Taylor.

The fields did not make their way with the Bears or Steelers.

Now, he will try with the jets.

The Jets expect Fields to be the last first round selection that some teams take before finding the step.

Baker Mayfield did it with the Buccaneers and Sam Darnold had a season of rupture with the Vikings last year.

Do the fields think it can be next?

“I mean, I think I can surely,” Fields said. “But I think everyone’s trip is different. Nobody’s trip is the same … it happened for them, as you said, in the third or fourth team. And, of course, I definitely hope it happens. So those boys kept their heads down.

Fields comes from a season in Pittsburgh, where he opened the season as a starter, it was 4-2, then it was Banca for Russell Wilson.

Receiving a new experience was a new experience for the fields, which was a star in high school and university.

“I am a great believer in which everything happens for a reason,” Fields said. “So they put me in a place where I was never in a place of my whole life. So I think I tried to have a different perspective. Of course, Russ has been in the league for a long time. So I learned many good things from him and came to learn a different perspective of things.

“So it was, or of course, different for me in a space where I was necessarily comfortable. But at the end of the day, coach [Mike] Tomlin made a decision in which he thought it was better for the team. And I’m never going against that. Of course, I am not a selfish guy at all. I tried to change my perspective, improve every day in practice. ”

Fields said the bench did not play a role in his decision to move from Pittsburgh.

He chose the Jets partly because he liked Glenn, who faced himself while with the Bears when Glenn was the defensive coordinator in Detroit.

Fields is also excited to meet Garrett Wilson, his university teammate at Ohio State.

“When I saw him, it’s really like the old days,” Fields said. “I don’t think our relationship will jump a rhythm … I am excited about that and the things we can do to help you have each mind, just return to the same page as in the university.”
